I made the shirred dress Dana from "Made" had on her blog: http://www.dana-made-it.com/2008/07/tutorial-shirt-dress.html It was instant love for me. I ran straight to Goodwill bright and early on Half-Priced Saturday. I found this manly Tommy Hilfiger men's dress shirt for $3. Unfortunately, and as usual, I did not take pictures before I started.

I did, however, take pictures after I was finished. I used the Simplicity 5695 pattern. I started out cutting off the sleeves, collar, and shoulder areas. I shirred the top part like one big tube. Once that was done, I cut out the pattern, as Dana recommends. Then I stitched the sleeves back on, with elastic in the hem already there. I added the navy blue trim and ran elastic through that. It is all in Dana's tutorial. Why re-invent the wheel? This is what I got. An incredibly adorable, very feminine dress no one would ever guess started out as a man's shirt! LOVE IT!!!
