What is funner than doing something your mother would never let you do! Remember all those pounds and pounds of food storage my grandma gave me inspiring the CHAIRs for Emmie's table? Well, we had to do something with them. After making 4 bean bags, I decided it would be more fun as an indoor sandbox! We actually have two boxes of colored rice, an idea I got years ago from our church nursery leaders, so why not beans?
We threw down a sheet, a 5lb bag of beans, and the kids came like magnets! Even the big ones. You should know that the beans vacuum up nicely. They can play until the throwing starts, but everyone helps clean up. It is actually a fabulous fine motor builder-a pre-writing activity!
